Secretary-General António Guterres has emphasized the need for the United Nations (UN) to become more nimble, efficient and effective, shifting its focus from excessive process and bureaucracy to delivery and people. In other words, to better support countries in advancing the 2030 Agenda, the UN must transform the way it works, starting with the mindsets and capacities of its personnel, particularly managers. In line with UN Management Reform, UNSSC contributes to shaping a common UN management culture across the system by offering robust learning solutions that strengthen managers’ ability to lead effective teams, implement change and enhance the organization’s programmatic and operational capacities, thereby enabling the UN to achieve its global objectives.
Drawing from decades of experience working with UN entities and partners, we offer a unique combination of individual learning offerings, customized learning solutions and initiatives designed to build capacity in project, change, team, people and performance management. These programmes prepare managers to lead high-performing teams, manage resources effectively, plan strategically, communicate efficiently and drive organizational transformation. Our learning initiatives also foster operational excellence by cultivating personnel’s skills in promoting simplified and harmonized processes, eliminating duplication and maximizing economies of scale.
Track 2 of the Roots to Results Programme focuses on strengthening leadership mindset and core management capabilities for UN professionals at the P4–P5 level, enabling them to lead people, manage performance and navigate complexity with confidence and impact. Built on a strong baseline curriculum, it is highly customizable to client needs, allowing additional leadership and management modules and expanded coaching sessions to be seamlessly integrated into the existing pathway, and can be delivered flexibly in online, blended or in-person modalities.
The Executive Management Programme (EMP) is a well-established, flagship leadership offer designed primarily for P5-level senior managers, with limited exceptions for P4 staff with significant managerial responsibilities. It provides a deep and integrated development journey that strengthens executive decision-making, people and performance management, strategic planning, partnership building, communication, innovation, and inclusive leadership through a highly learner-centred and experiential approach. This longer and more intensive engagement represents a significant time investment for participants and is highly customisable to organisational needs; while typically delivered in a blended format combining online learning, coaching, and workshops, it can also be implemented fully online to ensure maximum flexibility and reach.
The Leadership and Management Certificate Programme (LMCP) is a highly customized development solution that provides a strong baseline in core leadership and management capabilities for mid-level UN managers. The programme is always tailored to the specific needs of the client and typically comprises 5–6 focused learning modules, enhanced by a combination of group and individual coaching to support practical application, sustained behaviour change, and impact on performance.
This flexible suite of programmes is designed to enable team leaders and people and culture specialists to strengthen and sustain positive organizational culture. Grounded in the development of coaching, mentoring and people management capabilities, these programmes are highly customizable and can be delivered through a range of modalities—including fully online, blended or in-person formats—such as immersive retreats, team-based interventions, or programmes embedded within broader team-building and organizational development initiatives, allowing clients to address specific cultural challenges, organizational issues or targeted transformation goals.
The Project Management Professional (PMP) Bundle Offerings bring together the PMP Certification Path with complementary programmes to create a coherent, high-impact development journey for project management professionals. The 2026 offering combines PMP with Change Management Fundamentals for Project Managers, strengthening participants’ ability to deliver results while navigating complexity, stakeholder engagement, and organizational change. Future bundles may integrate PMP with S.O.S. programmes or other learning pathways as organizational priorities and capability needs evolve.
