Introduction

Our why

Key United Nations (UN) initiatives like the Secretary-General's Efficiency Agenda, the UN Reform Programme and the UN 2.0 Quintet of Change all highlight the need for a more agile, responsive and impactful UN system that can deliver on its mandate more effectively and efficiently. The first step towards achieving this goal is ensuring that personnel are equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools to excel in their work – both in administrative and operational roles – thus allowing UN agencies to focus on their strategic mandates and achieve their objectives with greater impact and accountability.

Setting UN personnel up for excellence

We are committed to supporting UN agencies in internal capacity building by providing a rich learning offer for staff at all levels and aimed at developing crucial skills in key operational areas, such as communication, knowledge and project management, procurement, administrative support, client service, and recruitment processes. We provide our training in a variety of formats, from self-paced online modules to live virtual sessions and blended solutions.

These programmes aim to build a competent, resilient workforce with the necessary skills to drive efficiency, improve service delivery, and foster a more agile and responsive organization.

The Skills for Administrative Assistants training was highly practical, as it helped me improve both the quality of my daily work and my relationships with colleagues. For example, enhancing my physical appearance and applying the six principles of communication [...] In addition, the modules on time and project management, negotiation skills, influencing others, and conflict management equipped me with essential skills to negotiate reasonable deadlines with colleagues and to say no whenever a request might conflict with other pending duties. [...]This course is invaluable for all UN staff, particularly those working in administration.
