UN Learning Managers Forum - Connect: Geneva
Join fellow United Nations (UN) learning practitioners at the UN Learning Managers Forum (LMF) Connect in Geneva on October 5th, a one-day, in-person gathering to connect with peers, exchange experiences, and reflect on current priorities for learning and staff development across the UN system.
This year’s edition will provide space for open dialogue, collaborative reflection, and practical sharing among colleagues working in learning, training, and staff development. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from one another, strengthen professional connections, and explore how the learning community can continue to support staff and organizations in a changing context.
The UN Learning Managers Forum, convened by UNSSC for over 29 years, is a professional development community of practice that brings together professionals responsible for learning, training, and staff development across UN agencies, funds, programmes, and other international organizations.
The Forum supports collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the learning community, helping to advance the learning agenda across the UN system.
As organizations continue to adapt to evolving priorities, changing ways of working, and increasing demands on staff and teams, learning and development remain central to supporting organizational effectiveness. Learning professionals play an important role in helping colleagues build the knowledge, skills, and mindsets needed to respond to change and contribute to results.
The UN LMF Connect: Geneva 2026 offers a dedicated space for learning managers and practitioners to pause, exchange perspectives, and reflect together on shared challenges and opportunities. The gathering will foster peer connection, practical dialogue, and continued collaboration across the UN learning community.
At the UN LMF Connect in Geneva, participants will:
- Connect with colleagues from across the UN system and strengthen their professional networks.
- Share experiences, lessons learned, and current practices in learning and staff development.
- Reflect on common priorities and challenges facing learning functions across organizations.
- Identify practical insights and opportunities for continued exchange and collaboration.
This interactive, in-person workshop will be held in Geneva on Monday, 5 October 2026, from 09:30 to 16:30.
The format will combine facilitated discussion, collaborative exercises, and peer exchange. The day is designed to encourage active participation, reflection, and learning from the diverse experiences represented in the room.
Together, participants will reflect on the evolving role of learning and development across the UN System and exchange on the priorities, challenges, and opportunities shaping their work.
The day will provide space for collaborative discussion, peer learning, and the sharing of experiences from across organizations. Through guided conversations and group reflection, participants will explore how the learning community can continue to support staff development, organizational learning, and collaboration across the UN System.
The event is organized in collaboration and with the support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Professionals responsible for learning, training, and staff development in UN agencies, funds, and programmes, as well as other international organizations.
To ensure broad representation across agencies, funds and programmes, we may ask individual entities to limit the number of participants they nominate.
There is no cost for participation in this LMF Connect. Prior registration is essential as spots are limited.
Please note that attendees are responsible for covering their own travel and accommodation costs.
