In the pursuit of change, many United Nations (UN) organizations have invested in ERP systems to contain costs and enhance performance, efficiency, and internal controls. Yet evidence shows that realizing these benefits is often more challenging than anticipated—success depends largely on how the change is managed. Recognizing this, UNLOCK has examined the experience of UNOPS, highlighting key lessons that resonate beyond ERP projects and offer valuable insights for anyone pursuing organizational change in the UN. This mini case study forms part of a wider report that captures lessons across multiple entities to support transformation efforts across the system.
