Join colleagues from across the system in a series of monthly, hands-on UN 2.0 Live events that support AI skills development and the responsible adoption of emerging technologies across the UN system. Delivered in partnership with the Executive Office of the Secretary-General (EOSG) and Microsoft Elevate, the programme provides interactive training sessions equipping UN personnel with the skills to advance the UN 2.0 vision and successfully implement the UN80 initiative.

You will explore both foundational and advanced AI concepts directly connected to day-to-day UN work. Episodes feature live demonstrations, guided exercises, and opportunities to interact with technical experts.

A formal credentialing system deployed in collaboration with Microsoft and EOSG on the Blue Line allows you to obtain badges for attending each of the sessions and completing the interactive exercises.

Why AI literacy matters for the UN 2.0 vision and UN 80 reform:

As the UN becomes more data-driven, agile, and future-focused, personnel must be able to understand, interpret, and apply insights from emerging technologies. Collectively strengthening AI knowledge enables us to

  • Anticipate and respond: Identify emerging trends, make faster evidence-informed decisions, and respond proactively to rapidly changing global challenges across duty stations, mandates, and operational contexts.
  • Work smarter: Support UN80's efficiency goals by automating routine processes, reducing duplication, and enabling better data analysis for smarter mandate implementation.
  • Build for the future: Develop transferable digital skills that remain valuable as the system evolves, fostering a culture of innovation that enhances programme delivery, accelerates SDG progress, and reinforces effective multilateral action.
