Yumi Terahata
Yumi Terahata has over 16 years of field experience leading programs for non-profit organizations in the Middle East and Asia, from tiny grassroots set-ups to international NGOs, including International Medical Corps, International Refugee Committee, the Netherlands Red Cross, and UNRWA. As a system coach and facilitator, she brings an intercultural lens to support people to raise their collective awareness about how they function together and to make informed, conscious choices towards their goals. Yumi’s specialty is supporting people of diverse backgrounds to communicate better, gain clarity and alignment, and leverage their differences for creative collaboration. She creates conditions for deep reflection and learning through interactive, experiential activities and skillfully holds space for courageous conversations around Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Social Justice. She has been facilitating the UNHCR Reflective Leadership Dialogues since 2020 virtually, as well as the UNHCR Race Awareness and Race dialogue facilitation training since 2020.
