Tom Wambeke
Tom Wambeke is the Chief of Learning Innovation at the International Labour Organization (ILO), where he leads work on sustainable learning solutions designed to generate measurable impact and support organizational transformation. He oversees a unit with a dual mandate: to strengthen the Centre’s internal capacity to apply cutting edge learning, communication, and knowledge sharing methods and technologies; and to deliver digital and in person learning services to external partners worldwide. In this role, he collaborates closely with UN entities, development banks, international organizations, governments and civil society organizations across the globe.
Before joining ILO, Tom served as Assistant Professor at the University of Leuven and worked as an innovation coach at Open Higher Education in Belgium. He is a certified international facilitator through the International Association of Facilitators and is actively engaged in strategy facilitation, participatory knowledge sharing, networked learning, and the use of information and communication technologies for development. His professional interests also include complexity adaptive thinking, foresight analysis and futures exploration, which he integrates into his work on innovative learning approaches.
