Romina Cavatassi
Romina Cavatassi leads a number of IFAD’s impact assessments (IAs) and in setting up a systematic approach for sound IA. This involves defining the theory of change and related indicators, developing the tools for data collection, leading the training and the data collection, as well as data analysis and dissemination of results. She also works on mainstreaming climate change adaptation and mitigation. Prior to joining IFAD, she worked for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) where she focused on development and natural resource economics. Over the last few years she has worked on climate-smart agriculture and, before that, on agrobiodiversity.
Romina holds a PhD in Natural Resource and Development Economics from Wageningen University and Research Centre, in the Netherlands, an MSc in Environmental Assessment and Evaluation from the London School of Economics, and a Master’s level degree in economics from the University of Bologna.
