Liyaan Sataravala
Liyaan is an Associate Fellow at the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC), working at the intersection of innovation, behavioural science, foresight, digital and learning. Her work centers on bridging theory and practice, ensuring that transformation is not only designed, but experienced.
In online learning environments, she leads project management, co-designs and facilitates core modules for the Innovation, Foresight, and Behavioural Science Springboard Programmes: bringing colleagues from across the United Nations (UN) system together to apply these methods to real projects. In person, she designs and facilitates hands-on workshops that move teams from insight to experimentation, and from experimentation to implementation. In e-learning, she spearheaded the project management of the UN 2.0 Fundamentals Path and designed the content for the Digital Fundamentals Module: translating complex concepts into clear, starting points.
Her background in capacity building and peer education on the front lines of a not-for-profit organization in India has equipped her to contextualise learning across diverse realities. Furthermore, her experience with UNSSC’s Advisory Services and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at IE Business School, Madrid, helps her contribute to year-long innovation assessments: breaking down concepts, simplifying them and creating systems and processes as solutions.
Certified in IDEO U’s Human-Centered Insights Programme and LEGO Serious Play, she creates psychologically safer spaces where teams can test assumptions, build shared visions, and move forward together with clarity and confidence.
