Dr. Wumi Olayinka
Dr Eyiwumi Bolutito OLAYINKA is an Associate Professor of French at the Department of European Studies, University of Ibadan. She holds a first degree in French from Ondo State University (1988); an MA in French from the University of Ibadan (1995); a professional Master in Managerial Psychology (2002) and a PhD in French and Francophone Studies from the University of Ibadan (2014). She is an alumna of the Centre de Linguistique Appliquée, Besançon, France.
A multiskilled training professional, Olayinka serves as a subject matter expert for the United Nations System Staff College, delivering virtual and in‑person training on Skills for Administrative Assistants in English and French. At the Pan African University of Life and Earth Sciences Institute (PAULESI), she is a consultant‑trainer for English language acquisition and immersion programmes supporting Francophone and other non‑English‑speaking postgraduate students. She is also a resource person at the School of Mordecai of Living by Design Institute (LBDI), where she contributes to training in Strategic Navigation.
Olayinka previously worked as a bilingual administrative assistant at two institutions within the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR): the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (1990–1997) and the International Livestock Research Institute (1997–2010), where she became Station Administrative Manager before transitioning to academia at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
Her research focuses on psychoanalysis and literature, gender studies, and postcolonial and neo‑colonial African literary studies. She has presented scholarly work across Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Asia and has experience as an online management training consultant using Learning Management System (LMS) software.
A strong advocate for women’s development and human capital advancement, she is also a literary critic, poet, and novelist.
