Davis Penklis
Dr David Penklis is the Deputy Chief Executive of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF). He has worked for the United Nations (UN) in New York and in Vienna, and in peacekeeping operations in Africa and Eastern Europe. He has also worked as a university professor and in investment banking, chartered practice and manufacturing.
He has held various Director roles in the UN system and the Australian Government. He led the successful liquidation of the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) in 2018 as Director of Mission Support and Head of Mission. As the Chief, he led the creation and start-up of the United Nations Regional Service Centre in Entebbe (RSCE). He has led or supported the start-up and downsizing of UN peacekeeping missions in Burundi, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Dr Penklis has led or been involved in successful major organizational transformation activities involving culture, people, practices, processes and structure. He has implemented optimization and improvement programmes for new and established organizations.
Dr Penklis holds a Bachelor of Business, Master of Commerce, Master of Arts, and Doctor of Philosophy. He is a Fellow, Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), a Certified Professional of the Australian Human Resources Institute, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has published articles and books, most recently a book about Organized Hypocrisy.
