Darshana Upadhyay
Darshana Upadhyay is a Research Scientist at TeleAI Corporation and holds an adjunct faculty position at Dalhousie University, where she co-supervises both graduate and undergraduate students in Dr. Srini Sampalli's MYTech lab. She received her Ph.D. degree from the Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie University, Canada. She holds a master's degree in computer science from Nirma University, India, where she also served as an assistant professor. During her graduate studies, she was awarded the Gold Medal for securing the first position. Darshana's primary research focuses on network and information security, AI in cyber security, hardware design in the field of embedded systems, vulnerability assessments, and intrusion detection and prevention techniques for IoT/SCADA-based Systems. She is the co-recipient of the Indo-Canadian Shastri research grant in the field of secure mobile communication. Additionally, she was selected as one of Canada's 2020 Emerging Thought Leaders by the Women in International Security - CANADA. Furthermore, she has received the 2021 Citizenship Award and the 2022 Leadership Award and also featured her portfolio on Alma website for mentoring the students at Dalhousie University.
