Daniel Vicente Ortega Pacheco
<p>Director of the <a href="http://test.cdpp.espol.edu.ec/">Public Policy Development Center of ESPOL</a> Polytechnic University, Ecuador. He has a PhD in public policy and management from the Ohio State University.</p>
<p>He served as Minister of Environment where he led the creation of the Marine Sanctuary of Galapagos, the new Organic Environmental Code, the National Biodiversity Strategy to 2030 and the National Strategy for Net Zero Deforestation by 2020. He served as Undersecretary General of the National Secretariat of Political Management promoting a new model of governance.</p>
<p>He was Deputy National Coordinator of the Pro Tempore Presidency of Ecuador before CELAC and has represented Latin America and the Caribbean as a member of the United Nations Executive Board for the Clean Development Mechanism. He has been lead negotiator for Ecuador in international affairs on Climate Change, Sustainable Development and Human Rights and board member at the Global Environmental Facility and the International Renewable Energy Agency.</p>
<p>He is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Global Master's Program in Health and Sustainable Development jointly developed by EARTH University and the American University of Beirut.</p>
<p>He has recently lead ESPOL’s Center for Public Policy Development to join the <a href="https://community.oecd.org/community/pcsdpartnership">Global PCSD Partnership. </a></p>
