Christianna Pangalos
Christianna Pangalos joined the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC) in August 2022 and is a Learning Portfolio Manager for the Governance, Partnerships and Digital Transformation portfolio. She has extensive experience in capacity development, governance and private sector partnerships for sustainable development.
Prior to joining UNSSC, Christianna provided policy advice for institutional strengthening in Southern Africa with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the World Bank. She has led anti-corruption projects with UNDP in Kenya and West Africa, and capacity development initiatives with UNDP in Latin America and the Caribbean. She has also worked at the intersection of public and private sector sustainability intiatives focusing on due diligence and Environmental Social Governance (ESG) compliance. Her experience also includes managing large programmes and teams with USAID and international NGOs in East Africa.
Christianna leads a number of UNSSC flagship programmes, including the UN Country Team Leadership Course, the Partnerships, Financing and Resource Mobilisation Programme and previous editions of the UN Summer Academy.
Christianna holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and Bachelor’s Degree in International Politics from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, including one year of study at Sciences Po in France. Christianna is passionate about leaving the planet a better place for her two daughters and all future generations.
