Chiara Marabotto
Chiara is an Open Innovation Analyst at IFAD’s Office of Development Effectiveness. She has been nominated as an IFAD Innovation Champion for 2025 and recently completed the UNSSC UN Innovation Toolkit Training of Trainers Programme, enabling her to embed the Innovation Toolkit into her daily work.
In her role, Chiara supports IFAD’s innovation outreach by fostering a culture of innovation both internally and externally. She provides technical guidance for the design and implementation of the Somalia Women’s Market Access Open Innovation Challenge, where IFAD’s innovation tools and methodologies are being applied in a regional and fragile context.
Chiara is also a certified Knowledge Management Specialist and manages the IFAD Innovation Network, the largest Community of Practice at IFAD. The Network is an informal, democratic, and non-hierarchical space for sharing ideas, good practices, tools, and lessons learned on how innovation can improve performance and better respond to the needs of IFAD’s target groups and beneficiaries.
She holds a Master’s degree in International Studies and previously worked with local NGOs supporting high school students in engaging with diplomacy and international relations.
