Bhagyashree Sagar
Bhagyashree is a multidisciplinary leadership and strategic communications specialist with over a decade of experience across international organizations, academia and media. Her professional focus is in advancing transformation in complex professional environments by enabling individuals - integrating expertise in programme management, gender equality, systems leadership and behavioural science.
As an Associate Fellow at the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC), her work revolves around the design, delivery, and strategic evolution of leadership development initiatives serving senior and executive professionals across the UN system, with a focus on gender empowerment, inclusive leadership, communications and psychological safety. Her focus is also on strengthening programme visibility and cross-entity engagement through data-informed outreach strategies, bridging policy insight, narrative strategy, and behavioural learning design. She regularly designs and facilitates high-level workshops and panels across UN entities and stewards professional learning communities of over 1,300 members globally.
Before joining UNSSC, she taught masters’ courses in project management and digital communications at prominent French universities and contributed to global public affairs at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Paris. Earlier in her career, she worked as an Editorial lead in India’s leading newsrooms, managing high-stakes reporting during national crises and led gender-focused news campaigns across print and TV.
She holds a Master’s in Public Policy from Sciences Po, Paris, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from Indian Institute of Mass Communications, Delhi. She is an Advanced LEGO® Serious Play® Facilitator, accredited Everything DiSC® practitioner, and certified Co-Active Coach (Fundamental), and works in English and Hindi, with working proficiency in French and foundational knowledge of Spanish and Italian.
