Beatriz Gonzalez Mendoza
Beatriz is an Associate Learning Officer at the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC), a role she has held since 2023. Her work focuses on governance, partnerships, and increasingly, systems thinking as a way to support more effective and integrated approaches to sustainable development.
Drawing on a strong background in capacity development and urban sustainability, Beatriz brings extensive experience from working with international agencies and civil society organizations. In recent years, she has also deepened her knowledge of strategic foresight for policymaking, strengthening her ability to support long-term, adaptive and forward-looking processes.
Before joining UNSSC, Beatriz worked at UN-Habitat headquarters and at the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Mexico and El Salvador. She also carried out several independent consultancies, mainly across Latin America and the Caribbean. These experiences have given her a solid understanding of international cooperation and cross-cultural partnerships.
Beatriz is certified in Project Management for Results (PM4R) by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and is also a LEGO® Serious Play® Certified Facilitator. She holds a Master’s degree in Cities and Global Development from the University of Sheffield and a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Escuela Bancaria y Comercial.
