Amanda Khozi Mukwashi

Amanda Mukwashi has devoted 30 years to public service. She has worked in both intergovernmental and non-governmental spaces, bringing in-depth experience from across the development sector. She currently serves as United Nations Resident Coordinator in the Kingdom of Lesotho.  

She also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Christian Aid, leading development and humanitarian interventions in over 30 countries in Africa, Asia & the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean. Amanda has also served with the United Nations under the United Nations Volunteers Programme in Germany, as Chief, Volunteer Knowledge and Innovation and leading advisory services. Prior to this, Amanda led the policy work for Voluntary Service Overseas International as Director of Policy and was instrumental in providing leadership, in her capacity as Coordinator for Women in Business at the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa, that led to the establishment of the Federation of Women in Business in Eastern and Southern Africa. 

Amanda’s areas of focus include leading on tackling violence against women and girls, economic empowerment for women, delivering services to vulnerable communities, strengthening civil society and localization, engaging in policy change, conflict prevention and diplomacy and delivering results and change management. She holds a master’s degree in International Economic Law from the University of Warwick (UK) and a bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Zambia.
