Aida Ghazaryan
Aida Ghazaryan is a Learning Portfolio Manager at the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC), which she joined in 2015, working across sustainable development, peace and security, and leadership and management both in Turin and in Bonn. She led flagship portfolios and delivered learning solutions for junior professional officers, emerging leaders, mid‑ to senior‑level UN staff and non‑UN stakeholders.
With 27 years of professional experience, including 25 within the UN at country, regional and HQ levels, Aida brings extensive expertise in inter‑agency collaboration, capacity development, country programming, programme management, policy advisory work and cross‑functional leadership. Before joining UNSSC, she served with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) across Eastern Europe and Central Asia, building partnerships, mobilizing resources and leading complex, scalable initiatives. She is experienced in UN enterprise resource platforms.
Aida is a Five Behaviors® Certified Practitioner, Certified IPDET Evaluator, and Certified Trainer in Gender‑Transformative Programming, Sexual and Reproductive Health in Humanitarian Settings (including the MISP), Results‑Based Management, and the Human Rights‑Based Approach. She received a Special Post Allowance for assuming Head of Office functions at UNFPA, served multiple terms as Co‑Chair of UNSSC’s Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Committee and UN WOMEN UN SWAP Award of Appreciation.
She received the CEU Alumni Hero Award for leadership and earned several academic distinctions and scholarships. Aida holds an MA in Human Rights Law (with Merit) from the Central European University in Budapest, a Diploma in Philology (with Honors) from Yerevan State University, and a BA from Syracuse University in the State of New York.
