The objectives of this session coordinated with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), will be to unpack the gender dimensions of climate-related security risks and present opportunities for action. Speakers will present case studies that illustrate the ways gender inequality shape risk for women and men faced with different climate and conflict-related risks. They will offer recommendations for integrating a gender lens into climate-security discussions, debates, context analyses, and programme design. The session will conclude with an open discussion with the speakers, during which participants are encouraged to engage by reflecting on pre-drafted questions, offering comments from their own experiences, or by submitting questions to panelists through the chat box or live.
