Svenja Korth
Svenja has been working for the United Nations (UN) since 1990. She started her career with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). She has worked in the field offices in Namibia, Equatorial Guinea, Suriname and Nicaragua. In 1998, Svenja came to Turin and joined the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITCILO) and in 2001 the UN System Staff College (UNSSC). She is the head of the Peace and Security Hub, which focuses on building partnerships for prevention by leveraging internal and external expertise to enable the UN and its partners to translate the sustaining peace concept into operational outcomes. Svenja holds an MA Degree in Applied Anthropology (focus on International Development) from The American University, Washington, DC and a BA Degree in Swahili and Anthropology from The School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, UK.
