Silvia Broda
Silvia is a professional project manager that is currently moving her career towards sustainability and climate action. With more than ten years of experience in the automotive industry she aims to apply her knowledge helping businesses to become net zero. She has experience in consulting engineers in Requirements Engineering processes at Mercedes-Benz Cars. As a project and product manager for Mercedes Benz Trucks she led cross-functional teams and worked in all phases of a project: from the strategic phase and project set-up to prototyping, project implementation and monitoring, to series management.
Silvia has studied and worked all over the world: from Colombia to Singapore, US, Spain, Turkey and Japan. She appreciates learning from different cultures. She speaks German, English, as well as Spanish and is currently studying Italian. As she just moved to Belgium she will also start to learn French soon.
During her learning journey into the sector of climate action in 2021, she was a selected participant of the joint UNFCCC & UNSSC program “Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the 2030 Agenda”. Learning with 500 fellows from all over the world about the deep interconnections of the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreement was exciting and eye-opening. Next to the very holistic view on the interlinkages between climate change and any sustainable development, the course also showed her how every layer of society needs to play its role in this transformation: policies, businesses, science, institutions and civil society. The course laid a foundation for further learning, that Silvia now wants to apply to helping businesses in the transition to a sustainable economy.
