Nancy Groves
Prior to the UN, Nancy worked in Washington, DC, at both CNN and National Public Radio.
She also worked with a development-related NGO called Global Volunteers where she led teams of volunteers to Ghana and Turkey.
Nancy joined the UN and the Department of Public Information in 2004.
Since then, she has held posts in the internal communications and library fields where she was part of a team that created what is believed to be the first-ever UN-produced blog called UN Pulse.
She has worked with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights as DPI’s human rights focal point.
She currently serves as social media team leader for DPI. In that role, she manages UN social media presences on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+, Tumblr, Flickr, Pinterest and Storify as well as writes policy and guidelines, provide training and advice to DPI staff and field offices and helps coordinate broader UN System social media initiatives.
