Mukondeleli Mpeiwa
Mukondeleli Mpeiwa, an international relations practitioner with fifteen (15) years’ experience in governmental and intergovernmental organizations. She currently heads the Mediation and Dialogue portfolio in the African Union Commission. In this role she manages and coordinates African mediation and conflict prevention efforts, including those led by the Panel of the Wise and its subsidiary mechanisms, FemWise-Africa, Wise-Youth, and PanWise. Prior to joining the AU, Mukondeleli worked in the Southern African Development Community’s Mediation Support Unit as a policy officer, and with the International Organization for Migration as a Head of Mission, and in other roles. She has also worked with the South African Government in various capacities. Ms Mpeiwa is a published author and has written on topics related to migration, political participation, gender-based violence, women peace and security and indigenous conflict resolution methods. She did her post-graduate studies in International Relations and Diplomacy and in Security Studies.
