Massamba Thioye
Former senior leader of the United Nations who headed the Global Innovation Hub for Climate Change at the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). In this role, he led efforts to promote systems level innovation and accelerate global climate action through both technological and policy transformation. He also served as a member of the Advisory Committee of the European Green Digital Coalition and on the Strategic Advisory Board of the “Net Zero” initiative under the International Organization for Standardization.
He has authored several influential technical papers published in peer reviewed scientific journals. His work includes research on reforming and integrating green bonds with carbon markets, as well as developing an advanced consumption based greenhouse gas accounting system for cities enabled by distributed ledger technologies. His publications reflect a career dedicated to pioneering innovative approaches at the intersection of climate policy, technology and sustainable finance.
