Liliana Uruburo

Liliana Uruburo works as an Advisor in Innovation and Transformation at the Business Transformation & Accountability Division of the United Nations Secretariat. With over 18 years of experience in the United Nations, she is an experienced leader transforming organizations through innovation, systems change and communications.

Liliana has led major transformation and innovation initiatives across the UN, including launching a system-wide effort to expand access to learning and collaboration tools, organizing a UN-system wide innovation challenge, and coordinating the development of cyber-response protocols to strengthen organizational resilience. She also developed the strategy for the business innovation hub, advanced experiential learning programmes using human-centred design and agile methods, and shaped strategic communications by establishing the corporate communications function within the Office of Information and Communication Technology, which was key to the successful rollout of the UN’s technology strategy including key transitions to the cloud and Office 365.
