Isaure Vicarini
Isaure Vicarini is an Individual Specialist in United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), specifically in the Intercultural Dialogue Programme, Social and Human Sciences Sector. She leads the development of a new series of policy briefs on the role of intercultural dialogue in conflict transformation (spanning transitional justice, atrocity prevention, social cohesion, and reconciliation) and supports the development of country-level initiatives in Rwanda and Sri Lanka, as well as a Horizon Europe proposal on cultural strategies for peace. Before, she worked in Kenya and Somalia in the humanitarian sector and served as a Research Associate with United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Resilience to Disasters and Conflicts Branch and with United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
She holds a BA (Hons) in War Studies from King’s College London, and an MA in Environment and Human Rights from Sciences Po. She has also completed courses at the École du Louvre in History of Art; Art & Archaeology of Ancient Egypt; and Religion & Spirituality in the Ancient Near East. Her work advances intercultural, dialogic and relational approaches to reconciliation and remembrance through research and practice.
