Emilie Romon

Ms. Emilie Romon co-ordinates the OECD’s Network of Foundations Working for Development (netFWD). Amongst others, she is in charge of the implementation of the Guidelines for Effective Philanthropic Engagement at the country level in Kenya, Mexico and Myanmar. She also authored a cross-country analysis, comparing the experience of these three countries plus India in trying to bring foundations and government closer. She contributed to creating the Network in 2012 and coordinated several studies published by OECD netFWD, including Venture Philanthropy in Development. Dynamics, Challenges and Lessons in the Search for Greater Impact. In addition, she contributes to positioning foundations in the international development debate, by playing a bridging role between governments and philanthropic organisations. Emilie works in close collaboration with senior management of foundations worldwide as well as country representatives to the OECD. Prior to joining the OECD Development Centre, Emilie served the Swiss Delegation to the OECD where she advised the Ambassador on cross-sectoral OECD strategic policy and governance-related issues. She holds a degree (MA, Public Management and Policies) from the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration (IDHEAP) and an undergrad in Political Science from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.
