Bernardo M. Ferdman, Ph.D., is an accomplished leadership and organization development consultant and board-certified executive coach with over 33 years of experience working with diverse groups and organizations around the world to increase individual and collective effectiveness and inclusion, to implement inclusive ways of using everyone’s talents and contributions, and to build multicultural and cross-cultural competencies on the part of individuals, teams, and the whole organization, as well as to inspire individuals to find their own voice and make their full contribution.
Bernardo is passionate about creating an inclusive world where more of us can be and become fully ourselves and accomplish our individual and collective goals in ways that are effective, productive, and authentic. He has focused his career on supporting organizations and their leaders to use their diversity and everyone’s individual inputs to achieve better results, and he consults, coaches, writes, speaks, teaches, and does research on inclusion, diversity, inclusive leadership, cultural identity, and bringing one’s whole self to work.
Bernardo has published extensively, and he recently created Inclusion@Work®, a digital coaching platform for learning about inclusion. His book, Diversity at Work: The Practice of Inclusion (Wiley, 2014; co-edited with Barbara Deane), provides a state-of-the-art, research-based understanding of inclusion and how to systematically create it, foster it, and navigate its challenges. Bernardo is currently working on an edited book focused on inclusive leadership, scheduled for publication in early 2020, building on the 25th Kravis-deRoulet Leadership Conference that he co-chaired and co-organized. He is an expert panelist for the Global Diversity and Inclusion Benchmarks, current president of the Diversity Collegium, and has served in leadership roles in many professional associations, including as president of the Interamerican Society of Psychology and chair of the Gender and Diversity in Organizations Division of the Academy of Management.
