As core part of UNSSC’s learning ecosystem, academic partnerships bring cutting-edge insights and knowledge that inform our learning offerings, solidifying our position as a global centre of excellence for the UN system
The Staff College acts as a bridge between the United Nations system and universities, drawing on our role as a trusted UN system learning institution and our credibility with academic institutions.
Whether expanding our network of academic partnerships or building on existing ones, we are committed to strengthening the relationship between the UN system and leading educational institutions that deliver cutting-edge knowledge and enhanced capabilities to current and future leaders.
We seek dynamic and innovative institutions that produce thought leadership on today’s most pressing challenges – the climate crisis, armed conflict and geopolitical instability, unprecedented population displacement, global poverty, and AI governance challenges, to name a few.
We look for opportunities that allow UN personnel and partners to acquire knowledge across UN priority topics.
UNSSC provides access to practical experience. Through hands-on projects for students, experiential learning weeks, and our Nelson Mandela Project for Social Change, universities can enhance their student experience and produce relevant insights for development practitioners.
This initiative is anchored in Nelson Mandela’s leadership insights, promoting value-based and adaptive leadership, resilience, and empathy. It fosters social change, inclusive dialogue, and participatory governance, and is implemented through a network of seven academic partners, the Nelson Mandela Foundation and UNSSC.
Co-developed in collaboration with IE University, this one-year programme is designed for professionals seeking to work in international development. Currently the programme is in its seventh year, with participants from all over the world.
