Yannis Derbali
Mr. Yannis Derbali, a Belgian-Tunisian national is currently working at the New York Office of UN Environment Programme on Inter-Agency Affairs and the development of the indicator of SDG 17.14.1. on Policy Coherence for Sustainable Development.
Prior roles in UN Environment include managing the Green Customs Initiative (www.greencustoms.org), a partnership of 12 organizations enhancing the capacity of customs and other relevant border control officers with regard to trade in environmentally-sensitive commodities covered by trade-related conventions and multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs) and supporting the coordination of the Environmental Governance Subprogramme.
Before joining UN Environment, he has worked for NGOs and the Belgian Development Agency (Enabel) as a project manager and a communication officer.
Yannis holds a master’s in international politics and a Postgraduate Degree in International Public Law.
