Sascha Gabizon

Education and previous work experience
Sascha Gabizon spent her first years in West Africa, did her Bachelors in European Studies in the Netherlands, and than completed an international business masters from ESCP/EAP France. Before joining WECF, Sascha Gabizon worked at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate Environment and Energy, as well as for business consultancies in Germany and Spain.
Current position
Sascha Gabizon is the executive director of WECF International. She developed the organisation Women Engage for a Common Future – WECF to become a major international network of women and environment organisations working for sustainable development and gender-equality in over 50 countries and contributing to international policy processes. Sascha co-facilitates the Women’s Major Group at the UNensuring participation of over 1000 Women’s organisations in the Sustainable Development Goals policy processes and is actively engaged with the Women & Gender Constituencyat the Climate negotiations.
Programmes
WECF’s programmes with local women’s organisations include leadership training and increasing economic independence, as well as its ‘Gender-Just Climate Solutions’ program. Sascha regularly moderates international conferences for WECF and for partner organisations, including at international policy conferences, such as the United Nations as well as the European Commission.
