Elisabeth Kelan, PhD, is a Professor of Leadership and Organisation at Essex Business School, University of Essex, UK. Her research focuses on women in leadership, men as change agents for gender equality, generations at work, and diversity, inclusion and belonging. Her latest research explores the future of work, digitalisation and gender and is funded by a Leverhulme Trust Major Research Fellowship. She has published three books: Gender and Corporate Boards - The Route to A Seat at The Table (with Scarlett Brown), Rising Stars - Developing Millennial Women as Leaders, and Performing Gender at Work. She also published numerous peer-reviewed articles in academic peer-reviewed journals. She is an associate editor of the journal Gender, Work and Organization and is on the editorial boards of the British Journal of Management, Management Learning and Gender in Management.
The Times featured her as one of the management thinkers to watch and her research is regularly reported in the media such as by the Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times. She is part of the Target Gender Equality of the UN Global Compact, and participated in two experts group on gender equality organised by the UN Women Focal Point for Women in the United Nations. Professor Kelan is regularly providing thought-leadership and consulting to businesses and international organisations. Elisabeth Kelan held appointments at London Business School, King's College London and Cranfield School of Management. She holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
