Mohammad Naciri
Mr. Mohammad Naciri has served as UN Women’s Regional Director for the Arab States Region since 2015. He previously served as the UN Women´s Deputy Regional Director for the Arab States. Mr. Naciri is very experienced in the region and related gender as well as development issues.
Mr. Naciri was the Deputy Country Director of the United Nations Development Programme in Yemen from 2009 to 2012. During his service he worked on the formulation of Yemen’s Gender Strategy. Furthermore, he worked in Kuwait, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Cambodia, on topics such as human trafficking or ethnic cleansing.
Mr. Naciri holds a MA degree in Public Administration and International Development from Harvard University, as well as a MA degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford. He also has a MA in Business Administration from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology in Alexandria.
