Katerina Tsetsura

Dr. Tsetsura is a Gaylord Family professor in the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Oklahoma in the USA. She is internationally known for her work in global public relations, strategic communication in Eastern Europe, and media transparency. She is a co-author of more than 80 publications and two books: Transparency, Public Relations, and the Mass Media: Combating Hidden Influences in News Coverage Worldwide (2017, Taylor & Francis) and Strategic Communications in Russia: Public Relations and Advertising (2021, Taylor & Francis).

At the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Tsetsura teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, including research, measurement, evaluation, and data analytics, with a focus on smart data visualization. Previously, she served as a visiting professor at the University of Aarhus in Denmark; University of Jyvaskyla, Finland; and City University of Hong Kong in Hong Kong, CAR, China.

As a consultant, Dr. Tsetsura works with various organizations to help them develop and implement various monitoring and evaluation activities and to provide her expertise as an experienced evaluator and a global media specialist. In 2020, she led a virtual mixed-method data collection and analysis evaluation of the program
me on democratic initiatives among young people in Ukraine supported by the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF). Dr. Tsetsura has worked as a team leader and team member on multiple evaluations across Eurasia and Africa, including evaluation of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), U.S. Department of State, and U.S. Agency for International Development (UNAID)-supported projects.

As a member of the Arthur W. Page Society, an invitation-only, professional association that unites the chief communication officers of the world’s largest corporations, chief executive officers of leading public relations agencies, and distinguished academics, Dr. Tsetsura serves the profession in helping to build bridges between academia and practice.

In 2018, she received the Outstanding Educator Award from Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the U.S. highest award for teaching in public relations.

Dr. Katerina Tsetsura loves to help people to produce impactful storytelling, with the help of smart data analysis visualization, to make a difference in the world.
