Amir H. Delju

Mr Amir H. Delju is a Senior Scientific Officer in the Climate Services Branch of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). He coordinates WMO’s contributions to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and its constituencies, mainly on adaptation to climate change and climate science basis action. He has dedicated his efforts to enhance partnerships and cooperation in climate activities, through establishing a two-way dialogue between the technical and scientific community and adaptation practitioners.

On Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Amir contributes to Goal 13 titled “Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts”, which WMO is a co-custodian. His particular focus areas are strengthening resilience and adaptive capacity, integrating climate change measures into national planning, and improving awareness-raising, human and institutional capacities.

Amir has a background in meteorology and climatology from the universities of Tehran in Iran and Neuchâtel in Switzerland. He has been working in WMO since 2004 and has passed his entire career in meteorological and climatological activities.
