Teresa Ramos

Teresa Ramos is an executive coach and strategic advisor working at the intersection of leadership, innovation, digital transformation and artificial intelligence. Through her Leading Beyond the Algorithm framework, she examines how AI reshapes judgment, authority and institutional accountability in complex systems.

She brings over two decades of international executive experience in technology and transformation, having held senior roles in organizations such as BT, Vodafone, Telefónica and Siemens Group, including leading early Big Data and agile and digital transformation initiatives. She currently serves on the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council and is Chapter Leader for Agile Leadership at the Institute of Coaching, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School.

Teresa holds a BSc in Theoretical Physics, a degree in Music (piano), an MSc in Telecommunications Engineering, an Executive MBA from IE Business School, an MSc in Telecommunications Engineering from King’s College London. She works internationally with senior leaders and institutions like the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Nations (UN), the National Health Service (NHS) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to strengthen supervision discipline, decision-making clarity, and responsible leadership in AI-augmented environments.

Nigel Gan is a Learning Portfolio Manager at the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC) where he is responsible for senior and executive leadership training across the United Nations (UN) system. Before joining UNSSC, Nigel led learning and development at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), and was the Leadership and Empowerment Training Portfolio Manager and Lead Instructional Designer at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). He has also held roles in several government agencies.

Nigel has successfully led various digital transformation, learning and innovation projects in the UN, and has developed and facilitated blended learning programmes around the world to learners from more than 120 countries, including Afghanistan, Iraq, South Sudan and Syria. He led the launch of the UN-private sector partnership, #EducateAll, a free global e-learning platform which reached more than a million learners in its first year. Nigel has been a speaker and facilitator at global conferences and workshops, including for the Association for Talent Development, Deloitte, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), SafetyCulture and various UN agencies.

Nigel is a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD®), and an accredited Career Coach, facilitator in the Lego® Serious Play® methodology, Five Behaviors®, Master Trainer and Master Instructional Designer.

Bhagyashree is a multidisciplinary leadership and strategic communications specialist with over a decade of experience across international organizations, academia and media. Her professional focus is in advancing transformation in complex professional environments by enabling individuals - integrating expertise in programme management, gender equality, systems leadership and behavioural science.

As an Associate Fellow at the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC), her work revolves around the design, delivery, and strategic evolution of leadership development initiatives serving senior and executive professionals across the UN system, with a focus on gender empowerment, inclusive leadership, communications and psychological safety. Her focus is also on strengthening programme visibility and cross-entity engagement through data-informed outreach strategies, bridging policy insight, narrative strategy, and behavioural learning design. She regularly designs and facilitates high-level workshops and panels across UN entities and stewards professional learning communities of over 1,300 members globally.

Before joining UNSSC, she taught masters’ courses in project management and digital communications at prominent French universities and contributed to global public affairs at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Paris. Earlier in her career, she worked as an Editorial lead in India’s leading newsrooms, managing high-stakes reporting during national crises and led gender-focused news campaigns across print and TV.

She holds a Master’s in Public Policy from Sciences Po, Paris, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from Indian Institute of Mass Communications, Delhi. Chris is a dual British-German citizen and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy(FHEA). Currently, he enjoys his doctoral research into the intersection between art, business and communication – while trying to make it through lockdown in London with his family.

Nelson Muffuh (Cameroon) took up his current role as Chief of Staff and Principal Adviser to the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General in the Executive Office of the Secretary-General in February 2017. Between 2012 and 2015, Nelson Muffuh shaped and coordinated the delivery of the extensive and comprehensive strategic effort to engage stakeholders and ensure their perspectives informed the post-2015 development policy, the intergovernmental process and its outcome - the 2030 Agenda, including the SDGs. Nelson has extensive strategic influencing and coordination, programme management, partnerships and communications, advocacy and mobilization, policy and knowledge management experience in the field of sustainable development, climate change, democratic governance and socioeconomic rights and has served at HQ, Regional and country level for the United Nations and other public, civil society and philanthropic entities. Prior to joining the UN System starting with UNDP/Millennium Campaign (West, Central and Eastern Africa), the UN Secretariat (New York) and UNFPA (West and Central Africa), Nelson served as a Senior Programme and Advocacy Adviser for Christian Aid (London), Programme Coordinator for the African Liberal Network/Westminster Foundation for Democracy (Africa/UK) and Programme Coordinator for Transparency International (Berlin). Nelson is a political and international relations expert as well as an international development specialist by training and studied in Germany (Frei Universitaet Berlin) and the United Kingdom (Sussex University). He is married with two children.

Miroslava (Mirka) Vavrecanova has been working in different Human Resources capacities in the UN system for 21 years. Mirka joined UNV as the Chief of HR Section on 1 October 2019. Before joining UNV, Mirka worked in UNFPA HQ where she served as the Chief of HR Services from 2014 to 2019. From 2011 to 2014, she served as the HR Specialist covering Asia and the Pacific and Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to her postings in UNFPA, Mirka worked as the Special Assistant to the Director of Staff Administrative Services (HR) with UNDP Copenhagen from 2007 to 2011. From 2005 to 2007, she served as the HR Specialist for the Region of Europe and the CIS in UNDP/NY. Mirka started her career in the UN system as the HR Officer in the UNDP Bratislava Regional Center (BRC, multi-office) in 2000.

Mirka is a national of Slovakia. She holds a Master’s Degree in Arts from Comenius University, Bratislava and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from City University, Bellevue Washington. She is also a certified Duty of Care Work with the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.

She is a proud mother of a 6 year- old daughter.

Nicole founded TransforME Now to change workplace culture to be positive and inclusive and address harassment, abuse and discrimination. Since 2018 Nicole has organized over 96 workshops on organizational culture change with TransforME Now, reaching over 1110 UN staff globally. Trained by UN System Staff College, Nicole has facilitated UN Country Team workshops on Teambuilding ,Working in Multicultural Teams, UN Reform and UN Development Assistance Frameworks for more than 200 staff across the globe, representing over 40 nationalities. She also oversaw cascade trainings reaching over 80,000 field consultants and community leaders for community mobilization on health advocacy. Nicole has 20 years of UN development experience, particularly in UNICEF and UNDP. Nicole has lived in five regions around the world and speaks several languages. In addition to design and facilitation, Nicole does consultancies on culture and change management and teaching Sociology at CUNY (with a focus on, gender, race, social status and inequality).
