Giuliana Rosso

Giuliana Rosso (Chivasso, Italy, 1992) is a painter using chalks, charcoal, and papier-mâché to explore the intersection between drawing and sculpture. Her expanded painting invades the exhibition space turning into three-dimensional matter celebrating the fragility of human beings when interacting with other species.

Rosso has been commissioned painting installations by institutions including GAMeC – Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Bergamo (2022); Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, Rivoli-Turin (2021), amongst others. Her solo exhibitions include Soltanto ora, perdute, mi diventano vere, VEDA, Florence (2019); A Creepy and Holy Jingle, La Casaforte S.B, Naples (2018), amongst others. Her work has been featured in group exhibitions including Capriccio 2000, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin (2019); If it is untouchable it is not beautiful, Monitor, Rome (2019), amongst others.
