An online programme designed to enable UN staff to assess the risk of election-related violence and adopt a political approach to prevent the violence or mitigate its effects.
Together with the Electoral Assistance Division of the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA), UNSSC has decided to deliver one virtual edition annually in addition to the two foreseen in-person trainings, in response to the current COVID-19 situation.
Upon successful completion of the virtual training, you will be able to:
This virtual training will be conducted over five half-day sessions on March 28, March 30, April 1, April 4 and April 6. Participation in all five half-day sessions is mandatory to obtain the certificate.
The sessions will be delivered as follows:
March 28 from 09:00-12:00 NY time
March 30 from 09:00 -12:00 NY time
April 1 from 09:00 - 12:00 NY time
April 4 from 09:00 - 12:00 NY time
April 6 from 09:00 - 12:00 NY time
UN staff working on electoral and political affairs, good offices and mediation as well as related peace and security issues. After signing up to this programme, you will be requested to submit your Personal History Profile (PHP), on the basis of which UNSSC and DPPA will carry out a selection process.
Thanks to generous support from the Department of Political Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA), there are no fees for this programme.
