Introduction

Over the past months, the world has faced a series of events that generated many challenges and opportunities for UN leadership. Executive leaders - who during the crisis have experienced increased pressure to be responsive and adaptive, while setting priorities and giving direction to their teams and organizations - are now called upon to take their leadership efforts a step further.

A crisis can be conceptualized as a turning point, an enzyme that triggers big changes at an individual, organizational and systemic level. Which are the assumptions that have been challenged through this crisis? What new realities might emerge as we digest and unpack the lessons that have emerged? Vis-à-vis these types of questions, the role of executive leaders and their ability to bridge multiple perspectives, leverage multi-sectoral response, and offer a novel vision becomes fundamental.

The "Executive Leadership for the Future of Work" programme is part of the Executive Leadership Digital Learning Series. The programme aims to support your leadership readiness by providing a safe space to be inspired by established experts and leaders, exchange with your peers, and refine/apply your identified strategies, with the support of personalized executive coaching. The series will provide you with new energy and insights to cultivate and enhance your vantage point for increased impact.

Course Methodology

Course Methodology: 

The programme starts with an orientation and technical check session prior to the beginning of the core sections.

Then, during week 1 and week 2 of the programme you will:

  • Participate in a 2-hour virtual session with thematic experts or established leaders and gain insights through inspiring conversations and plenary exchange
  • Be presented with individual reflection activities to foster a strategic conversation during the peer-to-peer exchange.
  • Join a 45-minute independently led peer-to-peer exchange around a set of guiding questions to trigger knowledge sharing, joint problem solving and the identification of collective leadership commitments.
  • Have access to a zoom-in resources to consolidate your learning.

Followed by week 3 of the programme, where you will:

  • Participate in a 2-hour virtual session with thematic experts or established leaders and gain insights through inspiring conversations and plenary exchange.
  • Join a 45-minute independently led peer-to-peer exchange around a set of guiding questions to trigger knowledge sharing, joint problem solving and the identification of collective leadership commitments.
  • Have access to a zoom-in resources to consolidate your learning.
  • Be supported through a 90-minute coaching session with an executive coach to refine your thinking and define your individual action plan
  • Additionally, you will benefit from a post-course follow-up 60-minute individual coaching session to further contextualize and personalize your learning.
