Women's Voices for an Equal Future

The United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC) has partnered with the Group of Women Leaders Voices for Change and Inclusion (GWL-Voices) to bring you the “Women’s Voices For an Equal Future” thought leadership series. Through this platform we seek to give greater visibility to a diverse group of women leaders who are using their voices to spearhead public discourse and address global challenges. We believe in full gender equality and the empowerment of women across all segments of society, and invite current and aspiring activists to join a movement to amplify #WomensVoicesForanEqualFuture.

This is your opportunity to call for the equal representation of women’s voices, and leadership in dialogue about the future of our world.

Building an equal future for all needs support from people around the world! Join us for a virtual event on 2 March 2021 (16:00 CET) to gain, and share knowledge about progressive approaches to women’s leadership and gender inclusion.

We want to hear your voice and share ideas on how we can all amplify #WomensVoicesForAnEqualFuture.

Our Why
In spite of abundant evidence that gender equality is important in public and private spheres, an overwhelming majority of women’s voices are often marginalized. This phenomenon has significantly hampered women’s ability to meaningfully contribute to dialogue about the future of our world. Change is needed now more than ever in the face of the increasing challenges and complexities presented by COVID-19.

We need diverse and innovative thinking to create new initiatives that will see us transform our societies, environments and economies to create a sustainable, just and equitable world. Central to this are women thinkers who have a rich history in sharing new angles, and ideas on the framing and analysis of global issues. We want to work with you to protect and strengthen their voices by giving their opinions more visibility and reach.

Our Story
UNSSC and GWL-Voices acknowledge their responsibility to amplify women’s voices to promote gender inclusion and women’s leadership across all spheres of society. To achieve this we have brought together a series of articles that draw on the diverse, yet shared experiences and perspectives of women leaders in different fields. It is our hope that this compilation of work will serve not only to impart insights on the importance of women as multilateral actors, but also as a call to action to the women leaders and advocates of tomorrow.
