The United Nations Evaluation Group (UNEG) is a professional network that brings together the units responsible for evaluation in the UN system including the specialized agencies, funds, programmes and affiliated organizations.
Negotiations between the UNSSC and the UNEG are currently undergoing to finalize a partnership agreement pursuing the development and implementation of a staff development programme on evaluation within the UN system. The programme, which is to be restricted to UN staff and would lead to UN-recognized certification, would be aimed at supporting the harmonization and further development of the competencies required to be a UN evaluator. In 2007, the UNSSC, in partnership with the UNEG, is piloting some of the modules that would become an integral part of the programme. Pilot courses are already available in various UN locations throughout the year. |
