Competency Definition: This competency encompasses consultation and participatory decision-making, transparency, taking decisions and responsibility; awareness of the impact on others, and reflection/judgement.

Key Indicators: Takes decisions based on thoughtful reflection and analysis of complex data and also has an ability to make quick decisions under pressure; Makes tough decisions when necessary, takes responsibility for them and is able to explain the reasons why they were made; Recognises the importance of different viewpoints and listens to people through a consultative and transparent process employing negotiation, group processes, facilitation, and persuasion to achieve consensus; Makes decisions in the best interests of the Organization and its stakeholders; Has an awareness of the impact of self and decisions on others.
