Strategic Thinking
Competency Definition: Has a realistic vision of the future. Foresees and prepares for future
obstacles and opportunities. Knows the objectives and direction of the Agency. Understands the importance
of
having integrated programme and subprogramme objectives which reflect the changing needs and expectations
of Member States and initiates or influences change accordingly.
Key Indicators: Critical Thinking - Maintains a clear awareness of the relationship between
all the organizational components of the Agency and of how changes might influence them individually
or severally.
SMS Alignment: Evaluates pros and cons of alternatives and the impact of decisions on
others and on the organization.
