Accountability for Results
Competency Definition: Ensuring that the organization as a whole performs effectively - that
results are achieved, resources are used efficiently, and the organization is able to respond effectively
in
situations of humanitarian crisis.
Key Indicators: Ensures that operations at Headquarters and in the field are carried out efficiently
and effectively; Ensures that organizational resources are employed effectively and redeployed when
necessary; Guides and promotes the establishment of accountability systems which review activities and
goals against strategies; Sustains UNFPA's momentum towards accomplishing goals and measuring
organizational performance.
SMS Alignment: Carries out an effective management of resources under shifting priorities
to meet expected results within time, budget and quality standards; Relies on goal setting and performance
measurement to monitor and enhance staff performance.
