‘Partners in Action’ is the continuation of a programme launched in 1998 by the UN System Staff College (UNSSC) and the International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF).
The Partners in Action project’s main activity is to offer a training course – Partnering Skills for Strategic Engagement Workshop. This course is designed to enhance the abilities of UN staff and their development partners to engage in and promote innovative and effective multi-stakeholder partnerships. The course primarily targets regional and country programme staff and their partners in government, business and civil society. These workshops are organized by IBLF and/or UNSSC upon the request of UN agencies. UNSSC participates in the organization of workshops involving more than one UN agency, in line with its inter-agency mandate, while IBLF addresses the training requests coming single UN agencies. On completing the course, the participants join a partnering community of practice. Currently, more than 400 participants completed the course and are now registered as members of the Partners in Action Community.
