About Resident Coordinator System Learning Support Project

A UN Resident Coordinator in each country represents the entire UN system and is mandated to coordinate the UN’s operational work in development.

The Resident Coordinator System Learning Support programme in the UNSSC, with the full support of the United Nations Development Operations Coordinantion Office (DOCO), designs and supports learning events for UN staff whose work contributes to a coordinated and integrated UN response to development problems at the country level.
The UNDAF is designed as a common UN response to country’s development challenges. It is a planning framework for the development operations of the UN system at the country level.
As the Resident Coordinator System is the central channel within the UN system for implementing analyses of country development problems and for implementing UN planning frameworks, this programme in the UN System Staff College supports learning events which assist UN staff in analysis and planning, such as UNDAF Design workshops and UNDAF Strategic Planning Retreats.

This programme, through its various learning activities, supports the concept of a coordinated UN response to development problems. Events include:

The programme also organizes teambuilding events for UN Country Teams, and has developed an on-line kit for orientation on UN programming processes.
